This Cookie Policy explains how Coyl SIA uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) when you visit coyl.eu, and the choices available to you. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. We also use local storage, a similar browser technology that lets a site remember information (such as your cart contents) directly in your browser without sending it to a server. Throughout this policy, "cookies" refers to both unless stated otherwise.
We keep this deliberately minimal. Coyl sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Everything below lives in your browser's local or session storage; the optional items are only stored after you say yes.
| Name | Category | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-token | Necessary | Keeps you signed in to your Coyl account | Until you log out or the session ends |
coyl_cart | Necessary | Remembers the items in your cart on this device | Until you empty the cart or clear site data |
coyl_consent | Necessary | Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months, then we ask again |
coyl_sell_wizard_state (session) | Necessary | Keeps the listing you're creating while you sign in with Google | Deleted as soon as you're back |
coyl_profile_nudge_dismissed (session) | Necessary | Remembers that you skipped the profile reminder on the sell page | Until you close the tab |
coyl_site_edit_mode (session) | Necessary | Coyl staff only: turns on image editing on the site | Until the tab closes |
coyl_currency | Preferences | Remembers the currency prices are shown in | Until you clear it or switch Preferences off |
coyl_fx_rates | Preferences | Keeps the day's exchange rates, so prices don't refetch them on every page | Refreshed after 10 minutes |
coyl_visitor | Statistics | A random ID, so the count of Coyl app downloads can tell repeat downloads apart. The download is recorded with this ID, and with your account if you're signed in. | Until you clear it or switch Statistics off |
| YouTube | External media | Plays review videos on product pages. Videos load from youtube-nocookie.com, and YouTube sets its own cookies when one plays. | Set by YouTube |
Necessary items can't be switched off, because the site can't work without them. Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive they don't need consent; everything else does.
On your first visit, a banner asks whether Coyl may use the optional categories: Preferences, Statistics and External media. "Only necessary" and "Accept all" are one click each, and "Choose" lets you pick. Nothing optional is stored before you decide.
You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or here. Switching a category off deletes what it had stored. Your choice is kept for 12 months, then we ask again.
If you say no to External media, a product page asks before playing a YouTube video, so you can still play one video without allowing them all.
Where you sign in using a third-party identity provider (such as Google), that provider may set its own cookies in accordance with its own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. YouTube sets its own cookies only when you play a video, as described above. We recommend reviewing the relevant provider's policy for details.
Pages also load fonts from Google Fonts and exchange rates from the Frankfurter API. These requests show those services your IP address, but they don't set cookies.
Most browsers let you view and delete site data, and block it, in their settings. Because the sign-in token is necessary, blocking it will prevent you from staying signed in. Clearing your browser's site data for Coyl removes everything listed above, including your cookie choice, so the banner will ask again.
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
